Backup and Restore User Configuration

You can backup and restore your app configuration in Sizzy. There are two types of backups in the app—automatic and manual. Here's what each of them does.

Automatic backups

Sizzy automatically backs up your configuration every 15 minutes so that you can revert to a previous config in case you mess up.

To restore from an automatic backup, first, click on the hamburger menu on the top left of the window, and go to Settings -> Import config.

This will open the Backups and Import dialog box. Here, you'll see a list of automatic backups; restore the backup of your choice by clicking the Import button on the right of each entry.

Manual backup and restore

In addition to automatic backups, you can export your current configuration manually. There are multiple reasons to do this:

  • Backing up a known working config to an external drive or a file hosting service in addition to your computer's internal drive.
  • Using your preferred configuration on a different development machine.
  • Sharing your configuration with other users, for example, coworkers.
